Lindy was born in Port Pirie on the 14th of June 1975, the second of four girls. She lived in Port Pirie before moving to Adelaide in 1993 to study Computer Systems Engineering at the University of South Australia.
Geoffrey was born in Adelaide on the 7th of August 1975. He lived in Papua New Guinea for the first five years of his life, then moved to Adelaide in 1981. Geoffrey met Lindy when he transferred in 1994 to UniSA from Flinders to continue his Computer Systems Engineering degree.
They worked together in the last year of their degree and their friendship developed over this time. Lindy and Geoffrey both achieved First Class Honours, gaining the top two marks in their course.
After finishing University, they continued to see each other. The rest is history, and they were engaged on 16th November 1998 at Windy Point, South Australia.
